Beleg's first appearance in The Silmarillion is after the capture of Minas Tirith, when he aided the Haladin in I 458 (just thirty-one years before his death). In principle, then, he could have been born relatively late in the First Age, but his evident stature among the people of Doriath suggests that he was rather older than this, perhaps even dating back as far as the Great Journey. |
