Isengar Took

An adventurous son of the Old Took

The youngest of the twelve children of the Old Took, and thus one of the many uncles of Bilbo Baggins. As a young Hobbit, he was said to have gone to sea - a remarkable feat for one of the normally water-shy Hobbits of the Shire. It seems that Isengar was one of the occasional Tooks who exhibited the adventuring spirit inherited from their Fallohidish ancestors, but no detailed records of his travels are recorded. (This is perhaps unsurprising, as the more respectable members of the family were said to take pains to keep such events as quiet as possible.)
