NotesA faint open cluster in the constellation of Perseus, NGC 1548 falls eastward of the prominent California Nebula in the sky, in the direction of Perseus' neighbour Auriga. Though too faint to be seen with the naked eye, the cluster covers an angular region approximately half a degree in diameter, closely equivalent to the disc of the Moon as seen from Earth.
