A supplement to the New General Catalogue. Since its original publication in 1895, it has been expanded to list more than five thousand objects.
The Southern Pleiades, an open cluster in Carina centred around the star Vathorz Posterior or Theta Carinae. At magnitude +1.60, this is one of the most prominent objects in the Index Catalogue, with the catalogue number IC 2602. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
