Gomeisa
Beta Canis Minoris, 3 Canis Minoris

This blue variable lies some 170 light years from the Earth, in the constellation of Canis Minor, the Lesser Dog.

Gomeisa lies on the fringe of the Milky Way in the constellation of Canis Minor. Close by, the Sun's near neighbour Procyon can be seen.

The galactic position and direction of Gomeisa relative to Earth's Sun. Note that, at this extreme scale, the two stars are effectively in the same place.
