NotesA rapidly rotating blue star, Gomeisa is a Be class star, possessing a disc of material extending out from the star itself for some 1.5 times Gomeisa's diameter. Gomeisa is also a pulsating variable star, showing marginal shifts in magnitude several times each day.

This blue variable lies a little over 160 light years from the Earth, in the constellation of Canis Minor, the Lesser Dog.
