NotesAt a magnitude of just +4.63, Eta Normae is nonetheless the third brightest star in the faint southern constellation of Norma. This is a yellow giant star in the later stages of its life; having swollen to a diameter some eleven times that of the Sun, the star is now burning helium rather than hydrogen in its core.
