Númerrámar

The great ship of Vëantur

The mighty golden-sailed ship of the Númenórean explorer and navigator Vëantur. It was Vëantur who first achieved the sea-journey back from Númenor to Middle-earth, and it is more than likely that he achieved this aboard Númerrámar. Though that cannot be said for certain, it is known for sure that Vëantur took Aldarion (the grandson of King Tar-Elendil) aboard Númerrámar on the first of his many voyages, inspiring a love of the Sea that lasted throughout Aldarion's life. After Vëantur's retirement, he granted Númerrámar to Aldarion as a gift, and the ship made at least one more journey to Middle-earth with Aldarion as its captain.
