The main reason behind putting the The Encyclopedia of Arda together is an enduring fascination with Tolkien's works - maintaining this site is simply engrossing, not to mention a great excuse to read and reread Tolkien's works from endlessly differing perspectives. Having said that, it's
marvellous to hear that most visitors seem to enjoy the site as much as we enjoy putting it
