Fair Elves

A name for the Vanyar

The highest of the High Elves, the Fair Elves or Vanyar followed their lord Ingwë to Valinor, where they remained, and there Ingwë became known as the High King of the Elves. The Fair Elves dwelt at first in Tirion with the Deep Elves, the Noldor, but this people were dedicated to Manwë and Varda, and in time they chose to leave their city and dwell instead on the slopes of Taniquetil beneath the halls of the Elder King.
