The fourth son of Fëanor

The seven Sons of Fëanor

The fourth son of Fëanor, who dwelt in Thargelion in the east of Beleriand. He was slain in the assault of the Sons of Fëanor on Menegroth.

'Ruddy-faced' is doubtless a reference to Caranthir's famously quick and furious temper.
