NotesThis hot blue supergiant has a diameter more than twenty times that of the Sun, and emits some five thousand times as much light energy. It has a rapid rate of rotation, and is a variable star showing non-radial pulsations.

A distant blue supergiant star lying in the constellation of Ara. Though it lies more than 1,100 light years from Earth, it is so luminous that is visible to the naked eye.
