A hot whitestar more than twice the diameter of the Sun and more than forty times as luminous. 81 Ursae Majoris is one of approximately 180 members of the Coma Berenices Neighbour Moving Group, a collection of stars with a common origin that are now spread over a range of some 150 light years.
