NotesA wide region of nebulosity spreading over more than forty light years, this nebula is a region of star formation, illuminated by the newly-formed clusters of stars within it. A dark wedge of material obscures a quadrant of the nebula, and the resulting shape gave rise to its common name of the 'Pacman Nebula'.
