NotesA relatively small but distinctive constellation of the northern summer sky, lying westward of the prominent cross shape of Cygnus. Vega, one of the brightest stars in the sky, falls within the boundaries of Lyra, while the unmistakable shape of the Ring Nebula can be found southward of Vega between the stars Sheliak and Sulafat.
