Notes	This is a relatively small constellation lying directly southward of bright Castor and Pollux in Gemini. Canis Minor contains only three stars above fifth magnitude, but among these three is Procyon, just eleven light years from the Sun and one of the brightest stars in the sky.

This small group of stars hugs the edge of the Milky Way. Among them lies Procyon, a near neighbour of the Sun lying just eleven light years away.
