NotesSheratan or Beta Arietis is an eclipsing binary system, in which the white primary star is periodically eclipsed by a fainter companion. The two stars in the system pursue a highly eccentric and elliptical orbit around one another, completing each orbit in a period of 107 days.

Sheratan has a magnitude that varies around +2.6. It is a hot dwarf star not far from Hamal in Aries.
