Asterism
Any pattern of stars in the night sky. Unlike constellations, whose boundaries are preicsely defined, asterisms are entirely unregulated. Some, like the Plough (Big Dipper), or the Square of Pegasus, are well-established formations despite their unofficial status. Others are less well known, like Job's Coffin in Delphinus, or the Milk Dipper in Sagittarius.
