i1 Aquarii is part of an apparent grouping of stars in the southeastern parts of Aquarius. The two brighter stars to the northwest are both distant giants, far beyond i1 Aquarii (the brighter yellow star, the northern of the two, is 104 Aquarii, while the orange star is 103 Aquarii). The bluer star (though actually F-type) to the southeast is i2 Aquarii, actually unrelated to i1 despite their shared Bayer designation. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
