NotesDelta Aquilae is formally named Guqi, from a traditional Chines name meaning the 'Drum Flag'. The star has also been traditionally known as Deneb Okab, a name not to be confused with those of Epsilon or Zeta Aquilae, both of which were traditionally called Deneb al Okab or Deneb el Okab. Historically, Deneb Okab (meaning 'tail of the Eagle') seems to have originally belonged to the Epsilon and Zeta stars as a pair, and was later mistakenly transferred to Delta Aquilae in the central regions of the constellation.
