Alkes

Alpha Crateris, 7 Crateris

The fainter star that stands out to the immediate east of Alkes is the pulsating red giant R Crateris, which lies more than four times farther from the Sun than Alkes at a distance of nearly seven hundred light years. Faintly visible to Alkes' immediate west is the spiral galaxy PGC 33076. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
