The 'stacked' appearance of 279 G. Sagittarii here, with orange and blue images of the star overlaid, and the central reticle offset from both star images, reflects the high proper motion of the star. 279 G. Sagittarii is a close neighbour of the Sun at a distance of less than twenty light years, and therefore shows a distinctive motion across the sky relative to the much more distant background stars.
