Celestial Sphere
A theoretical concept used in mapping the sky, which is imagined as a hollow sphere, with the Earth at its centre. It is most commonly mapped by using the Equatorial (often called simply 'Celestial') coordinate system. This applies the concepts of Right Ascension and Declination to describe the positions of objects.
