Originally from Lossarnach, among the valleys on the southern side of the White Mountains, Morwen came to the court of King Thengel of Rohan to become his young bride. She was known among the Rohirrim for her graceful and proud bearing, qualities that seem to have given rise to her name 'Steelsheen'. Tradition said that she had passed on these qualities to her grand-daughter, Éowyn.
