A lake of Aman

"beneath the Hill of Ilmarin
a-glimmer in a valley sheer
the lamplit towers of Tirion
are mirrored on the Shadowmere.
From Bilbo's Song of Eärendil
The Fellowship of the Ring II 2
Many Meetings

A translation of the Elvish Luvailin, referring to a lake in the lands of the Elves west of the Sea. Its location is never stated with certainty, but if it reflected the lights of the city of Tirion, it seems that it must have lain in or near to the Pass of Light beneath the hill of Túna, where the city of Tirion stood.
