A shortened form of the name Tar-Calmacil, referring to the King of Númenor also known in Adûnaic as Ar-Belzagar. He was a strong military leader, and a proponent of the movement known as the 'King's Men', favouring a break from the earlier traditions and policies of Númenor. Details of his succession are confused, but he seems to have passed the royal Sceptre on to his son Tar-Ardamin.
