The ancestral home of the Took family, located at Tuckborough in the Westfarthing of the Shire.

The precise location of Great Smials is not shown on any map, but we are told that it lay in the Green Hills at Tuckborough, so we can narrow down its location fairly closely. Given the geography of the area, it was probably in the hills to the north of the town.
