Ferdibrand Took

The son of Ferdinand Took

The son of Ferdinand Took, Ferdibrand was descended from Hildibrand Took, the eighth child of the famous Old Took. A contemporary of the Hobbits who travelled with the Company of the Ring, Ferdibrand was born just one year after Meriadoc Brandybuck. The name Ferdibrand is an adaptation of his father's name Ferdinand that contains elements meaning 'journey' and 'sword'.
