The third of Vardamir's four children, Aulendil was thus a grandson of Elros Tar-Minyatur, the founding King of Númenor. His elder brother followed the line of royal descent to become King Tar-Amandil, and Aulendil also had an elder sister, Vardilmë, and a younger brother, Nolondil. He founded a family of his own that is known to have lasted for several generations.

Notes

1

The date of Aulendil's death is not recorded, but his close family all lived past their four hundredth year. It's likely, then, that Aulendil would have survived until the year II 613 or even later.
