Ponto Baggins

The eldest son of Posco Baggins

The eldest of the three children of Posco Baggins and Gilly Brownlock, Ponto had a younger brother, Porto, and a younger sister, Peony, and also a daughter of his own, Angelica Baggins, who is mentioned briefly in the text of The Lord of the Rings.

Unusually, Ponto was not the first member of the Baggins family to bear that name. His great-grandfather, the son of Balbo Baggins, had also been named Ponto, and presumably Posco named his son in honour of this family ancestor.
