Notes	This bright giant star is in the later stages of its life, and gradually cooling. The main F-type giant of the system, Theta Scorpii A, rotates on its axis sufficiently fast to flatten it into an oblate shape. It has a binary companion star, designated Theta Scorpii B.

The Galactic position and direction of Sargas relative to Earth's Sun. Note that, at this extreme scale, the two stars are effectively in the same place.

Sargas lies in the far south of Scorpius, near its borders with Ara and the Southern Crown. It is a binary star that shines with a yellow-white light, some three hundred light years away from the Sun.
