Fang or Pi Scorpii is a multiple system, organised around a pair of bluestars that together form a contact binary, a binary system whose components are physically connected, circling one another in a period of less than two days. Far out from this central binary at a distance of some 8,000 AU is a faint orangedwarf, which itself forms part of a double star with its own even fainter and less massive companion.
