The sixth-magnitude star to the immediate north of J Centauri is the eclipsing binary V790 Centauri. Some sources list this as an outlying member of the J Centauri system, though more recent parallax data suggests that in fact it lies considerably farther from the Sun than J Centauri itself, thus forming an optical double rather than a true multiple star system.
