"
beneath the Hill of Ilmarin
a-glimmer in a valley sheer
the lamplit towers of Tirion
are mirrored on the Shadowmere."
A translation of the Elvish Luvailin, referring to a lake in the lands of the Elves west of the Sea. Its location is never stated with certainty, but if it reflected the lights of the city of Tirion, it seems that it lay in Eldamar at the feet of Taniquetil, perhaps in or near to the Pass of Light beneath the hill of Túna, where the city of Tirion stood.
