Nazgûl Lord

Chieftain of the Nine Riders

The greatest and most feared of the Nine Ringwraiths or Nazgûl, Men enslaved by Sauron through the Nine Rings. A mighty Sorcerer, the Nazgûl Lord established himself as the Witch-king of Angmar for many centuries of the Third Age, and oversaw the ruin of the kingdoms of the Dúnedain in the north. Long afterwards, he sought for the Ring-bearer with his fellow Nazgûl, and later led a force to the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. It had been prophesied that he could not be slain by the hand of man, and this proved true in the end: he was slain by a woman, Éowyn of Rohan, with the aid of the Hobbit Meriadoc Brandybuck.
