Mount Everwhite

A name for Taniquetil

One of the many names given to Taniquetil, the Holy Mountain of Manwë and Varda. Said to be the tallest mountain in the world, it rose even above the high peaks that made up the range of the Pelóri in Aman. The name is seen in the song of farewell sung by Galadriel as the Company of the Ring departed from Lórien: there, it is given as a direct translation of another of Taniquetil's names, Oiolossë.
