Men of the Anfalas

The people of Langstrand

The people who dwelt in the long stretch of coastal land in the far west of Gondor, between the rivers Lefnui and Morthond. This was a sparsely populated region, and many of the Men of the Anfalas were hunters or herdsmen, dwelling in small villages. Nonetheless, they had a lord: Golasgil ruled over the Men of the Anfalas at the end of the Third Age, and took many of his people to the defence of Minas Tirith in the War of the Ring.

Beyond the river Lefnui to the west of the Anfalas was Drúwaith Iaur, the Old Púkel-land where the Drúedain had once dwelt in numbers. The Men of the Anfalas maintained a tradition that some of the Wild Men still survived in that wilderness region, and after the War of the Ring it was found that they were right: the Drúedain did still dwell in Drúwaith Iaur.
