Durin VI

Doomed King of Khazad-dûm

Kings of Durin's Folk

A descendant of Durin the Deathless, Durin VI was the King of Durin's Folk when the Balrog was awoken in Khazad-dûm. The Balrog's name, Durin's Bane, comes from this King, who was one of the first to be slain by it.

Notes

1

Durin VI took his name from his ancestor Durin the Deathless, the first of the Fathers of the Dwarves to awaken. See the entry for Durin the Deathless for a more detailed discussion of the etymology of the name.
