Celebrindal

The surname of Idril of Gondolin

The surname, meaning 'Silver-foot', of Turgon's daughter Idril, who became the mother of Eärendil the Mariner. It was her habit to walk barefoot wherever she went, and because of the paleness of her skin, she became known as Idril the Silver-footed (a name that also contrasted with the golden colour of her hair).
