Battle of the Field of Gondor

(1)	The Lord of the Nazgûl crosses Anduin and drives back its defenders, advancing over the Pelennor Fields to set up a siege line ready for the main assault against Minas Tirith.
(2)	Sauron's forces are reinforced from the east, and attack the City. This advance succeeds as far as reaching the walls and breaking the Great Gate.
(3)	The Rohirrim, having evaded a force sent to stall their advance, join the battle from the north.
(4)	Imrahil leads a sally from Minas Tirith to join the battle, as more reinforcements join Sauron's armies from the east.
(5)	A fleet of ships sails up Anduin and docks at the Harlond. Led by Aragorn, they bring Gondorian defenders from the southern fiefs, and with their aid, the tide of battle turns in the defenders' favour.
(6)	The few surviving enemy abandon the battle and flee back across the Pelennor.

A name for the great battle fought on the 14 and 15 March III 3019, more commonly called the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. After spreading a darkness across the sky to aid his Orcs, Sauron sent an army under the Lord of the Nazgûl to take Minas Tirith, the main stronghold of his enemies. The city was besieged, and Sauron's armies succeeded in breaching the Great Gate, but the sudden appearance of the Rohirrim allowed the Gondorians to turn the tide of the battle. By sunset on the second day, the invading force had been entirely defeated.
