Almarian

Queen to Tar-Meneldur of Númenor

Queen to Tar-Meneldur, the fifth King of Númenor, and mother to Tar-Aldarion, the sixth King.

Notes

1

At least, we know that Almarian dwelt in the royal city of Armenelos after her husband succeeded to the throne and became King Tar-Meneldur. Almarian's father Vëantur had a house in the port city of Rómenna, and it seems plausible that Almarian would have dwelt there during her younger years.

2

Almarian's name is not explained, but it seems to derive from (or at least be influenced by) the Quenya word almárea, meaning 'blessed'.
