A blue star in the constellation of Circinus, just a few degrees from the famous and prominent Alpha Centauri or Rigil Kentaurus. Theta Circini is a close binary system containing two similar stars. The primary star is an eruptive variable of the Gamma Cassiopeiae type, expelling rings of matter from its equatorial regions on a somewhat irregular basis.
