NotesThe star that forms the 'crest' of Hydra's head is a multiple system, at the heart of which lies a close binary pair consisting of a yellow giant and white subgiant. The central pair of stars are orbited in turn by another close binary pair, and the system has at least one further member, a tiny red dwarf some 800 AU from the core of the system.
