Alpha Microscopii
A
yellow
giant
in the faint
constellation
of
Microscopium
. Its considerable distance from the
Solar System
, nearly 400
light years
, makes it appear as faint as the other
stars
in this inconspicuous group.
The
Galactic
position and direction of
Alpha Microscopii
relative to
Earth's
Sun
. Note that, at this extreme scale, the two
stars
are effectively in the same place.
