139 Tauri
139 Tauri lies just within Taurus' westernmost border, where it meets Gemini to the north of Orion. It is an immensely luminous blue supergiant, comparable with Deneb or Rigel, though rather less massive. At more than 2,000 light years from the Solar System, it is only faintly visible to the naked eye.
