Winter Sky (Northern Hemisphere)
Summer Sky (Southern Hemisphere)

This region is dominated by the central and unmistakable form of Orion the Hunter, a prominent constellation incorporating the distinctive line of three stars that form Orion's Belt, as well as the clusters and nebulae that make up the associated Sword of Orion. An imaginary line running eastwards through the stars of the Belt leads to Sirius in Canis Major, the brightest star in the sky.

North and west from Orion lies the horned shape of Taurus the Bull, containing the easily detectable Pleiades cluster, and a line continuing north and west through Taurus comes to Perseus and its Demon Star Algol. Eastward of Taurus and Perseus is the constellation of Gemini, the Twins, with its two prominent stars Castor and Pollux.
