NotesThis planetary nebula has a slightly elongated shape, and is composed of two distinct concentric rings of matter expanding outward from the central star.

A planetary nebula in the west of Andromeda, nearly 4,000 light years from the Solar System. Though it is faint as seen from Earth (its apparent magnitude is +8.3), the Blue Snowball is in fact a vast cloud of expanding gas nearly a light year across.
