The fourth month of the year, according to the calendars of the Dúnedain and those derived from them, following the spring feast-day of Tuilérë. On a modern calendar, Víressë ran between 24 March and 22 April.
The name Víressë derived originally from the Quenya language, and would be most commonly used by Westron-speakers. The Sindarin equivalent, Gwirith, was the form preferred by the Dúnedain themselves. In turn, Víressë ultimately gave rise to Astron, the fourth month of the Shire Calendar.
