Ringday

A festival in honour of Frodo the Ring-bearer

After the Fall of Sauron in III 3019, even before the end of the Third Age, the calendars of Aragorn's Reunited Kingdom were revised to celebrate this momentous event. On the new scheme, known as the New Reckoning, the date of Yavannië 30 (the last day of September) corresponded to the birthday shared by Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. This was made a holiday and festival in honour of the Ring-bearer, known as Cormarë or Ringday.
