Hill of Slain

The Haudh-en-Ndengin of Anfauglith

After his victory in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, Morgoth sent his Orcs to gather the bodies and gear of his fallen foes in a great mound on the ashen plains of Anfauglith. That high mound was known to the Elves as Haudh-en-Ndengin, translated 'Hill of Slain', and also Haudh-en-Nirnaeth, 'Hill of Tears'. In the desolate wasteland of the Gasping Dust, it was the only place where green plants would grow.
