Lord of the Haladin of Brethil; he fostered his nephews Húrin and Huor during their childhood years, and was slain in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad.

Haldir's date of birth is not recorded, but we do know that he wedded Glóredhel shortly before the Dagor Bragollach. That battle occurred in I 455, and the date of birth given here is based on the assumption that Haldir would have been about twenty at that time.
